Welcome! I'm Dr. Udim Isang, DPT, EdD, Mbia Idiong (They/Them/It/We), a medicine woman rooted in the Annang and Ibibio Tribes of Southeast Nigeria.
As a passionate advocate for holistic healing, I blend ancestral wisdom with contemporary practices to address the profound impacts of trauma on emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
My approach integrates diverse modalities such as dance, trapeze yoga, Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT), and Brainspotting. I aim to offer individuals interested in somatic healing an indigenous root deeply connected to Annang and Ibibio traditions.
Beyond clinical practice, I'm an accomplished author of Liberation Through Practice: Voices of Black & Indigenous Healers and other works exploring implicit bias, Indigenous healing practices, and holistic wellness.
I also find personal and communal healing through mixed-media art, spoken word, and movement therapy. My mission is to bridge ancient traditions with modern wellness practices, creating transformative pathways to healing and empowerment for individuals and communities alike.
